Bring a spectacular piece of Indian heritage into your home or garden with this rare pair of antique painted teak wood doors, salvaged from a historic building in Gujarat State. Dating from the 1880s, these doors are finished in a richly distressed teal blue with original ochre and yellow sunburst carved panels, highlighted by centuries of patina and robust iron fittings.

Originally used as a second line of defence behind Jali doors in prominent homes, these doors are both practical and decorative. Their bold colour palette and hand-carved detailing make them perfect for use as dramatic garden gates, patio or terrace entrances, statement wall décor, or even as unique shutters or film props. Suitable for outdoor use in the UK with annual linseed oil and a clear lacquer to protect the paint.

Key Features:

  • Distressed teal blue paint with ochre and yellow sunburst carved panels

  • Original ironwork: bolts, locks, and handles

  • Handcrafted 19th-century solid teak wood construction

  • Historic patina and age-related marks, adding to its authentic character

  • Dimensions: 98 x 3 x 181 cm (38.6" x 1.2" x 71.3")

  • Sourced personally by a member of Jardinopia in Rajasthan, India

Versatile Uses:

  • Grand entrance gates for walled gardens or patios
